An immersive Haitian Independence experience tracing the journey from resistance to liberation, culminating at midnight with champagne and the ceremonial sharing of Soup Joumou.
On December 31, Chef KO invites you to gather for the second annual celebration of one of Haiti’s most meaningful traditions.
For Haitians around the world, January 1 is more than the beginning of a new year. It marks the birth of the first free Black republic and a history of resistance, courage, sacrifice, and self-determination.
Throughout the evening, guests will experience Haitian food, music, storytelling, culture, and carefully curated moments that honor the journey toward freedom while celebrating the beauty, joy, and resilience of Haiti today.
As midnight approaches, we’ll raise a glass of champagne together and welcome January 1 with the sharing of Soup Joumou—the dish that has come to symbolize Haitian freedom.
Some parts of the evening are intentionally being kept a surprise.

This experience was created to honor the meaning behind the tradition—not simply serve a bowl of soup.
The evening explores themes of memory, resistance, liberation, identity, and collective celebration, inviting guests to experience Haitian Independence through food and culture in a way that is both deeply rooted and alive in the present.
You do not need to be Haitian to attend. Come curious and ready to celebrate with us.
